Brewer, 77, of Dyersburg, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence. Born August 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Oscar and Neva Boone Brewer. Bill was a kind man and avid outdoorsman, whether it was farming from sunup to sundown or hunting his favorite wild game of the season. He was a deacon in the Baptist church and song leader for 35 plus years of his life. Married to his childhood sweetheart, Wanda Gibson Brewer, for 58 years this past Valentine’s Day, they loved golfing together with close friends. His great love extended, not only to his children and grandchildren, but to the community of family and friends of Halls and Dyersburg.Celebration of Life services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Nathe Ozment with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be Roger Meadows, Eugene Pugh, Gaylon Hardy, Blake Brewer, Alex Brewer, Sam Bradshaw and Will Bradshaw.The Brewer family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15th from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the church.In addition to his wife, Wanda, he is survived by his daughter, Jane B. Bradshaw (Walt) of Dyersburg; his son, Jeff L. Permenter on August 4, 1978.Joey was a dedicated employee of Ermco for 35 years. He retired in October 2014.He served McCullough Chapel Church as Deacon from 1990-2014. He also served as Sunday School Director. In April 2014, Joey and Kathy joined Holy Hills Baptist Church.Joey was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, amazing person. He loved the Lord and loved his wife. He loved to go camping and grill out. Joey also loved antiques, Native American Jewelry and Dr. Pepper.
